The Initiative «Academics to Academics» (A2A)

The Initiative is aimed at the support of academic staff of Ukrainian universities who have been relocated from active hostilities zone. The Initiative will target university teachers and researchers enabling them to conduct education and research activities while staying internally displaced.

As a result of the implementation of the Initiative at the 1st stage (April 2022), we received requests from 37 persons. Information support was provided to 6 persons – academic staff of Ukrainian universities who moved from the cities of Severodonetsk, Sumy, Kyiv to Western Ukraine (Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi, etc.) and abroad (Latvia, Turkey). The received funds we used to buy 2 new laptops that were handed over to colleagues – Associate Professor of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs (moved from Mariupol to Kryvyi Rih) and Senior Lecturer of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian University (moved from Severodonetsk to Kvasove of Zakarpatska oblast). The funds were also sent to modernize another 12 used laptops, which will soon be handed to teachers and researchers who have submitted requests and need a personal laptop to carry out their professional activities while staying internally displaced.

We launch the implementation of the 2nd stage of the Initiative.

The Initiative foresees:

• raising funds to support Ukrainian university teachers and researchers who have been relocated from the regions within active hostilities zone;
• accumulation of information on the needs of particular teachers and researchers, needs analysis and fulfilment in accordance with the principle of openness and the previously set criteria.
