On 29 July 2025, a bilateral meeting took place in Rome, Italy, between representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science, and Innovations, the Italian National Agency for Erasmus+ (INDIRE), and the National Authorities of Italy responsible for Erasmus+.

The meeting focused on key management, financial, and communication aspects in the context of Ukraine’s pathway towards becoming a full Programme Country of the EU’s Erasmus+ Programme.

Participants from Ukraine included:

• Olena KOZIEVSKA, Head of the Secretariat, Committee on Education, Science and Innovations, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – Parliament, and Higher Education Reform Expert (HERE) of the Erasmus+ Programme;
• Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine.

During the meeting, participants discussed challenges, solutions and successful experience of Italy participating in Erasmus+ as a Programme Country. Partners from Italy shared the information about the Agency operation, activities, responsibilities and implementation of the projects in school, vocational, higher and adult education. They also discussed future prospects for enhancing Erasmus+ collaboration between Italy and Ukraine.
