Regarding the exclusion of the Russian Federation
The team of the National Erasmus+ Office — Ukraine fully supports the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine!

Today, March 1, 2022, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet addressed the Support Group of the Bologna Process and key structures of the European Higher Education Area  European Register of Higher Education Quality Assurance (EQAR), European University Association (EUA), European Association for Higher Quality Assurance Education (ENQA), the European Association of Higher Education Institutions (EURASHE) and the Network of National Information Centers for Academic Recognition and Mobility (ENIC-NARIC Networks) - on the exclusion of the Russian Federation from institutional and intergovernmental relations.
"The European Higher Education Area is built on the fundamental principles of democracy and the rule of law. These principles are explicitly set out in the vision of the European Higher Education Area set out in the Rome Communiqué 2020, signed by 48 ministers responsible for higher education in all countries of the European Higher Education Area. The Russian Federation has shown the world that it is violating all the principles and conditions of cooperation between countries, destroying everything by its own terrorist acts. I am convinced that only by uniting will we form a strong European education. Together we are invincible, "Serhiy Shkarlet said.

Note that at 5 o'clock in the morning on February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a war against Ukraine. Our country is experiencing mass bombings, shelling and invasions. The Bologna Process cannot stand aside from ruthless aggression and remain silent at this crucial moment for the whole world. Ukraine considers it unacceptable to continue Russia's presence in the Bologna Process and asks the European Higher Education Area to provide an immediate and clear response to the war that the Russian Federation has launched against Ukraine.

It will be recalled that Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Škarlet held an online meeting with Lithuanian Minister of Education, Science and Sport Jurgita Šugždiniene, Latvian Minister of Education and Science Anita Muizniece and Estonian Minister of Education and Science Lijna Kersna.

The European Higher Education Area is built on the fundamental principles of democracy and the rule of law. These principles have been unequivocally reinforced in the EHEA vision in the Rome Communique 2020, signed by 48 Ministers responsible for higher education in all European Higher Education Area countries. The Russian Federation has demonstrated to the whole world that it violates all the principles and conditions of cooperation among countries, by destroying everything in its path. I am convinced that only united can we have an impactful European education. Together  we are invincible! ’— stressed Serhiy Shkarlet.

At 5 o’clock in the morning on February 24, 2022 the Russian Federation has started the war against Ukraine. Our country endures massive bombing, shelling and invasion by troops. The Bologna Process cannot stand aside from the ruthless aggression and remain silent at this turning point for the whole world. Ukraine considers it unacceptable to continue its presence in the Bologna Process and asks for an immediate and clear reaction of the EHEA to the war that the Russian Federation has started against Ukraine.
