The forum brought together representatives of Ukraine’s leading medical universities, higher education institutions with medical education programs, and key stakeholders.
The plenary session of the forum began with the identification of the main problems of medical education and was generally devoted to finding common solutions. Internationalization is a necessary element of development, which is why a significant part of the session was devoted to discussing the prospects of international recognition of Ukrainian medicine (report of the Deputy Head of the National Agency Natalia STUKALO).
Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine, highlighted the importance of grant activities and mastering the practices of foreign colleagues in the presentation "Erasmus + as a tool for internationalization of medical universities".
Deputy Head of the National Agency Bohdan Morklyanyk informed the participants about the implementation of higher education standards for medical specialties. In his report, he specified the requirements of the standards and called for a unified approach to the evaluation of educational programs in medicine.
The forum hosted a presentation of the handbook "Competence Approach", which was reported by Olena IGNASCHUK — Medical Education Coordinator of the Ukrainian-Swiss project "Development of Medical Education" and Tetyana STEPURKO — Head of the project office of this project. Today, there are few such textbooks in certain fields of Ukrainian education, so this experience is extremely valuable.
Representatives of the Private Institution of Higher Education of Kyiv Medical University, Zaporizhia, Bukovyna State Medical Universities and the Medical Institute of Sumy State University demonstrated their achievements during the panel discussion. They shared their experience in ensuring the quality of education, including the involvement of technical tools in the educational process, improving the material base, participation in international projects and other best practices in the implementation of educational programs.
The system of assessment of learning outcomes is one of the most pressing issues in the educational process, as noted by Deputy National Agency Andriy BUTENKO, during the next panel. Lesya OLIYNYK, Head of the Testing Center at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, made a report on the certification of applicants in the form of the KROK exam, detailing its positive and negative aspects.
At the end of the forum there was an intensive discussion of the problems of accreditation of educational programs with the consideration of real cases under the moderation of the Deputy Head of the Agency Olena YEREMENKO.
