Information session (04.03.2021, online)

On March 4, 2021, an online webinar was held for representatives of vocational (technical) education on the opportunities of the European Union's Erasmus+ Program. The event was organized by the Reform Support Team, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with the National Erasmus+ Office — Ukraine. More than 700 representatives of vocational education institutions from different regions of Ukraine joined the participation, and more than 13,000 viewers joined the Facebook broadcast.

Iryna SHUMIK, Director General of the Vocational Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of the European Union's Erasmus+ Program to support educational reforms and new opportunities for vocational education institutions to open in 2021. -2027. The Speaker drew attention to the experience of implemented Erasmus+ projects in the field of higher education, which are aimed at improving training in vocational (vocational) education.

Tetyana BILETSKA, acting Director of the Reform Support Team (RST) of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, presented the EU project — Reform Support Team as an expert support to the Ministry of Education and Science in implementing reforms of vocational education, the New Ukrainian School and public administration reform. The speaker focused the participants' attention on the history of the Erasmus+ Program and the general overview of opportunities for Ukrainian organizations. Participants also learned about the priorities of the Program for 2021-2027, about expanding the opportunities of the Program in the field of youth and sports, as well as about opening a window of opportunities for vocational education for Ukraine, which will be known after the official announcement at the end of 2021. In her presentation, Ms. Tetyana stressed the importance of preliminary training of representatives of vocational (professional and technical) education for quality and successful participation in future competitions of the new Erasmus+ Program.

Representatives of NEO — Ukraine Zhanna TALANOVA and Ivanna ATAMANCHUK joined the discussion of the results of the Erasmus+ Program in 2014-2020 and the prospects for the period 2021-2027 for the system of vocational (technical) education in Ukraine. The speakers stressed the importance of international cooperation between vocational (technical and technical), professional higher and higher education institutions in the framework of reforms and European integration processes in Ukraine. The speakers provided recommendations for monitoring the experience of the European Education Area in order to study the framework approaches and harmonization of educational processes in the field of vocational (technical) education in order to implement high-quality and effective future Erasmus+ projects. For example, the speakers stressed the importance of the National Qualifications Framework and standards of vocational education for the development of modern educational programs, as well as the European guidelines for quality assurance for vocational education - QA VET. The event also demonstrated examples and results of involvement of vocational (vocational) education institutions in capacity building projects in higher education, international mobility Erasmus+ during 2014-2021. The attention of the participants was drawn to the preparatory work to ensure active participation institutions of vocational (vocational) education in the Program 2021-2027, in particular to find domestic and foreign partners, create project teams, prepare projects, improve foreign language proficiency, etc.

After the event and summing up, the participants joined the discussion session, receiving comprehensive answers to the questions. As a result, these aspects of training will help to attract representatives of vocational (technical) education to the new opportunities of Erasmus+ and the modernization of domestic education.
