Erasmus+ Information Day “EU Support to Ukrainian Youth” |
On 7 December 2017 the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), EU Delegation to Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine together with National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine and Center for European Initiatives organised Erasmus+ Information Day “EU Support for Ukrainian Youth”. More than 60 representatives from Ukrainian non-governmental organization (NGOs) and higher education institutions (HEIs) from different regions (Kiev, Odesa, Vinnitsa, Kharkiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Kremenchug, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Uzhhorod, Chernivtsi) joint the event in Ukrainian multimedia platform for broadcasting “UKRINFORM”. The event aimed to present the European Union grant opportunities for the development of Eastern Partnership youth NGOs, youth entrepreneurship and exchange of youth leaders within EU Programme Erasmus+. Tetiana Shulha, Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, in welcoming speech emphasized the active work of the EU Delegation to Ukraine to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine through the Erasmus+ Programme. The speaker focused on the needs for NGOs and universities to be involved in the implementation of the Erasmus+ Youth projects for capacity development and international cooperation. Коротко про всі можливості напряму Молодь Oleksandr Yarema, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports of Ukraine, joined the Information Day and stressed the importance of enriching the horizons, international youth cooperation and finding new partners in the field of youth work. José Díez Verdejo, European Commission, focused his presentation on EU support for young people from the Eastern Partnership countries and potential participants’ engagement into the Erasmus+ project implementation. It is important to mention that both NGOs and HEIs can be beneficiaries within Erasmus+ youth projects. EU support to Youth in the Eastern Partnership Gabriela Ścibiorska, European Commission, performed key recommendations on competitive proposal for capacity building in the field of Youth, providing consultations during the discussion session. Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the field of Youth Eastern Partnership Youth Window Igor Nosach, Coordinator of International Charity Partnership for Every Child, shared his experience in European Commission finding opportunities and project implementation. Speaker provided advices on the mandatory stages within EU Programme participation: registration on the Participant Portal, downloading application forms, etc. Anna Kovbasyuk, Coordinator of Erasmus+ Youth Info Centre in Ukraine, performed opportunities of the Programme in the field of Youth, highlighting the Erasmus+ KA1: European Voluntary Service (EVS), Ukrainian experience of youth mobility projects, and best practice of EU volunteers’ involvement into activities of Ukrainian organizations. Opportunities for Youth within Erasmus+ Svitlana Shytikova, Head of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, presented the architecture of Erasmus+ Programme and recommendations on the first steps in the project proposal preparation; stressed key documents for successful project proposals (Erasmus+ Programme Guide, etc.); provided step-by-step instructions on participation within Erasmus+ Calls: the Participant Portal registration, partner search, e-forms, and more. Work together with European higher education institutions Mykola Movchan, Deputy Minister for European Integration of Ukraine, summarised the Erasmus+ Information Day "EU Support for Ukrainian Youth" and highlighted main directions of the Ministry’s international activities and opportunities open to young people of Ukraine.
